Sibley's Christmas Adventure
A Story for Every Season, by Don Alhart

Some stories are meant for more than just a season—they warm hearts, spark memories, and bring people together all year long. Sibley’s Christmas Adventure, written by Rochester broadcasting legend Don Alhart and beautifully illustrated by former Arc Foundation intern Doug Hoyt, is one of those timeless tales. Inspired by the magic of Sibley’s Department Store in downtown Rochester, this nostalgic story is more than just a book—it’s a reminder of the joy found in simple moments, the power of community, and the belief that a little magic exists in every day. Sibley himself comes to life as a plush companion, ready to bring comfort and happiness to readers of all ages. Thanks to generous purchases from our community, we’ve raised over $50,000 to date—directly benefiting The Arc Foundation of Monroe. Every sale of Sibley’s Christmas Adventure and Sibley plush helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full, connected lives as part of our community, fostering greater empowerment, inclusion, and independence. Beyond the pages, Sibley’s spirit of kindness continues to grow. We’ve been honored to donate books and plush Sibley toys to local nonprofit partners like Ronald McDonald House, Roberto Clemente School No. 8, Golisano Children’s Hospital, The Pirate Toy Fund , The HUGS Foundation, and more, spreading joy in every season. A heartfelt thank you to Don Alhart for bringing Sibley’s story to life and for helping us share its message of wonder, generosity, and belonging—not just at the holidays, but every day of the year.
